How does it work?
FreshWater’s Malachite cartridge contains the very latest granular activated alumina, specifically designed for the removal of fluoride from the water as it passes though the cartridge.

Do I need to remove fluoride?
The removal of fluoride from your water is an entirely personal decision. However, many independent specialists condemn the addition of fluoride to your drinking water and no proven benefits of adding fluoride to water exist. The addition of fluoride to drinking water has been linked with increased risk of bone cancer, damage to the central nervous system and has been banned by a number of EC countries.

Where can it be fitted?
The cartridge can be fitted into an under sink housing or into a gravity filter housing with either 1 or more other cartridges.

When will the cartridge need changing?
The cartridge can last for up to 2100 litres. The cartridge will last according to how much fluoride is in the raw water supply. It is never an exact science and will vary according to locality and the fluoride quantities in the water.
