Evidence is emerging that shows the importance of vitamin D in protecting against: heart disease; depression; bone fractures; falls in the elderly; breast, prostate and other cancers. 20µg is considered the optimum amount of intake. Food State Vitamin D is D3, which is the metabolically active form of this nutrient.
